Ah yes, the final phase of my treatment has started. I'm two weeks into my radiation treatments. So far the boredom isn't driving me nuts.
The thing that struck me the strongest was that I got assigned to the same machine as I had last time. As I walked around the corner, into the treatment room, a completely unbidden thought popped into my head: "hello old friend". I just about fell over laughing, and also just about fell over due to the irony of the situation. I had hoped I would never have to see that "friend" again. Just when you think all is going right...boot. But it is still pretty funny, either way. The view is the same. The laser lights still hit me in the eyes when they move the table around, the same tape is stuck to the ceiling in places. And I think the angel figurine on the top shelf was there last time too. But they must've changed the cleaning supplies cuz the room smells different from last time. Well, the machine smells different, the room smells mostly the same. Don't know why but there it is.
Taking my own food up with me has been a life saver, in more ways than one. Cafeteria food is barely ok on rare occasions, but twice every weekday for five weeks...I would be admitted to the hospital proper for having a heart attack or stroke I am sure. LOL
Well thats all I got for now.
